Vivienne Kim

Envisioning sustainable human flourishing through aesthetic experiences

Vivienne Kim’s journey reflects a deep care for and appreciation of the world. Her aspiration to integrate personal experience and interdisciplinary research into a comprehensive project reflects both her intellectual passion and her compassionate vision for the world.

Recognizing that human dignity stands at the intersection of the multilateral challenges we face today — social, economic, environmental, and health-related — she is simultaneously developing: (1) a human development theory centered on Homo Aestheticus (the beautiful human); (2) The Beautiful Life, a human flourishing model designed to enhance human dignity — both inherent and socio-culturally and vocationally contextualized — and to foster sustainable, lifelong flourishing; and (3) Project Beautiful Someone, arts-integrated interventions through art exhibitions, museum-based education, and cultural programs to promote individual and collective wellness. Together, these initiatives form a complementary framework to current studies on human flourishing, happiness, and well-being, seeking to accompany and enliven their aspirational visions within everyday life.
